We at Harbor House of Central Florida pride ourselves on the fact that we work hand in hand with the broader non-profit community to ensure that our families have all their needs met.
About 2 months ago Claudette Longoria introduced me to a representative of Autism Speaks at a Guys with Ties happy hour event. Later that same week I realized that we had a family at the emergency shelter in need of assistance with their profoundly autistic child. I called Claudette who immediately put me in touch with the representative with Autism Speaks and we scheduled a meeting.
The Representatives came out to the emergency shelter and met with the Children Services Manager and the parent and immediately began to assist this family in need. Ultimately the resources for this family were not available here in Orlando, due to a ten year wait for placement in a school for autistic children. But, we as a team were able to place this family in the correct program in another state.
Last week the family left the emergency shelter on a 12 hour ride to their new home and new life. The parent will now be able to work in her chosen field of translation as her child will now be cared for properly in a school for profoundly autistic children.
If it was not for Claudette and the whole Guys with Ties team this would not have been possible!
Thank you for all that you do for the Central Florida Community…
Regards,
Joy Haslacker, Harbor House of Central Florida

Once again, Saturday, October 25, you made our mission your own. Banded together and dressed in costumes, we supported the wonderful organizations, Harbor House and SAFE House of Seminole. Hundreds gathered at the 3rd Costumes for a Cause Event to benefit these two worthy causes. With your support, in one night, we raised $16,000.00 to provide immediate support to the efforts and programs for Domestic Violence Support and Awareness in the Central Florida community.
On behalf of Harbor House & SAFE House of Seminole, our sponsors, our volunteers and the Guys with Ties Philanthropy.
Thank You!

Guys With Ties would like to extend our most sincere gratitude and best wishes to Jon Rosario. Jon has served as a Guys With Ties volunteer for the past two years. He has had a significant role in the success of each event and we thank him for his hard work and dedication. Jon recently began a new chapter in his life of serving his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. On October 20, 2008, he left for the USMC Boot Camp in Parris Island, South Carolina, for 13 weeks. While we are saddened by his departure, and we will certainly miss him, we are extremely proud to have had Jon be a part of our organization. We are extremely grateful to him, and all of our enlisted men and women, for their service to this great nation. We wish Jon the best of luck in his new journey.

Once again, Friday, July 25, you made our mission your own. Banded together and dressed in White, we celebrated the wonderful organization, Autism Speaks. Hundreds gathered and even battled the rain at the 3rd Annual White Party to benefit Autism Speaks. With your support, in one night, we raised $10,000.00 to provide immediate support to the efforts and programs for Autism in the Central Florida community.
We encourage you further your effort with Autism Speaks by participating in Walk Now for Autism on November 15 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. Guys with Ties is sponsoring a team if you wish to participate among friends. Click Here for more info.
