Claudette Longoria
Executive Director
Claudette was born and raised in Texas. She attended Texas A&M University, majoring in Psychology and Pre-Law. In 1994, Claudette moved to El Paso, Texas to teach Special Education and Autistic children. In 1996, Claudette moved to Orlando and worked with Orange County Public School’s Exceptional Education Department at the Orange Juvenile Detention Center. In 1998, she was offered a position with the State of Florida, Department of Juvenile Justice Orange Juvenile Detention Center as the Assistant to the Assistant Superintendents and Detention Care Worker II. During her tenure, as part of the Behavior Management team, she implemented a facility Behavior Management model as part of the juvenile detainees daily routine. Claudette also served as the Community Liaison for the facility on numerous local boards and outreach programming with local, state and federal government entities.
Claudette continued to pursue her education and obtained degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice while working for a local law enforcement agency. Currently, Claudette is a Business Intake Analyst for Akerman Senterfitt, Corporate offices.
In addition to Claudette serving as the Guys With Ties, Philanthropy, Executive Director, she currently serves as the Vice President of Board of Directors for the Central Florida Police Athletic League (PAL); Hands On Orlando Project Coordinator for Coalition Homeless Children’s Birthday Party; Base Camp Children’s Cancer Prom Committee Chairman; Harbor House Executive Committee Member for the Princess Ball and is an Autism Speak Committee Member. Claudette is very active and supports numerous other local and national charities. Claudette also serves as a mentor to local youth organizations and coaches local youth sports.
Claudette was nominated by her peers for the Central Florida Women’s Resource Center 2008 Summit Award and 2008 Points of Light Award. During her free time, enjoys traveling, reading, outdoor activities and participating and watching sports, especially Spurs basketball.
